Teaser | Maruch (Non-Linear & Interactive Version)

"I think the most interesting aspects of Web 2.0 are new tools that explore the continuum between the personal and the social, and tools that are endowed with a certain flexibility and modularity which enables collaborative remixability — a transformative process in which the information and media we’ve organized and shared can be recombined and built on to create new forms, concepts, ideas, mashups and services.” (Manovich 2009:43) After having finished the linear movie On the Road with Maruch (Walter and de la Crúz 2008), I sought to create a platform that takes account of a more interactive, reflexive, non-linear, and open mode of representation. With this teaser I will illustrate the most important technical steps for creating the prototype for such a platform. At the time of writing, the interface is still in development and so it is not online (Walter N.d.a).
